California Grade A PET bales done at 13.75 cpp, 8.5 cpp for Grade B
HOUSTON, January 26, 2016 (PCW) -- California Grade A PET scrap bales were done Tuesday at 13.75 cpp FOB Long Beach and 13.5 cpp FOB Oakland, according to a market participant. These prices are down 0.75 cpp from business done late last week.
Grade B bales, which have a PET yield of less than 94% and often exported from the Golden State, were done at 8.91 cpp FOB Long Beach and 8.86 cpp FOB Oakland, down 0.25 cpp and 0.2 cpp, respectively.
PET bales from curbside bottles and containers east of the Rockies were steady Tuesday at 7.25-7.75 cpp on an FOB basis, depending on location.
A bid offering sale Thursday by the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, Florida, includes 12-14 truckloads of PET bales. The offering's bale sales are typically used as price markers for the following month for markets east of the Rockies, at least for the first half of the month. -- Xavier A. Cronin
