PET bales done at 8.6 cpp at Florida bid offering

HOUSTON, January 28, 2016 (PCW) -- PET bales were booked Thursday at 8.61 cpp at the monthly bid offering of the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, Florida, the SWA announced.

The offering, of PET and other post-consumer plastic, provides a price marker for these scrap commodities for the early part of the month in markets east of the Rockies.

The PET sale, for bottles and containers of clear and green PET, was for 12-14 truckloads to OHRA Inc, for pickup at the SWA facility in February.

The sale compares to business done Wednesday at 8-8.5 cpp for PET bales east of the Rockies.

The SWA also sold HDPE mixed-colors bales at 18.3 cpp to Signode Industrial Group, DBA Angleboard; HDPE natural (dairy) bales at 29 cpp to Cellmark; numbers 1-7 mixed plastic bottles and containers at 1.62 cpp ro M&L Plastics; and numbers 1-7 large/oversized rigid plastic at 2 cpp to Waste Management. -- Xavier A.
