US nonfuel use propylene supplies decline

HOUSTON, January 5, 2017 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories fell by 145,000 bbls (3%) to 4.642 million bbls, the Energy Department reported today. It was the third inventory drop in the past ten weeks, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. Propylene stocks are 1.283 million bbls (38.2%) above the 52-week average. Meanwhile, US Gulf refinery utilization during the week ended Dec 30 was up 0.2 percentage point at 95%, the highest throughput since April 2016.  -- David Barry
