NYMEX Thursday Wrap: Crude rallies; nat gas, gasoline finish stronger
HOUSTON, January 5, 2017 (PCW) — February NYMEX crude futures settled higher, up $0.50/bbl to $53.76/bbl. March Brent at the close of the NYMEX increased $0.51/bbl to $56.97/bbl.
The March Brent/WTI spread widened to $2.29/bbl favoring Brent. Prompt natural gas futures were down 0.6 cents at $3.273/mmBtu. February NYMEX RBOB futures closed at $1.6377/gal, down 0.82 cpg.
January gasoline differentials were mixed versus Wednesday’s levels.
A4 CBOB 87 regular was stronger at 2.75 cpg under the screen.
CBOB 87 was up at 2.25 cpg under the screen.
D4 CBOB 93 premium was weaker at 14.00 cpg over the screen.
CBOB 93 was softer at 14.50 cpg over the screen.
RBOB was higher at 1.25 cpg under the screen.
The 3-2-1 crack in the Gulf Coast was $13.43/bbl, $2.38/bbl under the screen. – John Troland
