Ineos’ 5th ethane vessel in service, headed for Marcus Hook
HOUSTON, January 6, 2017 (PCW) – The JS Ineos Innovation, Ineos’ fifth ethane vessel, has been placed into service and is now en route to the export terminal at Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania.
Maritime data indicates the ship will arrive on Sunday from Ulsan, Korea.
US ethane exports from Marcus Hook began in March, largely serving Ineos’ cracker in Rafnes, Norway, with a more recent destination being its cracker in Grangemouth, Scotland.
Ineos had four vessels plying those routes last year: JS Ineos Inspiration, JS Ineos Insight, JS Ineos Intrepid and JS Ineos Ingenuity.
Each vessel has a capacity of 27,500 cubic meters, which is roughly equivalent to about 260,000 ethane barrels.
PetroChem Wire tracks ethane vessels’ movements on a weekly basis in its NGLs Week report. For a free trial, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
