US nonfuel use propylene supplies drop for fourth straight week

HOUSTON, January 25, 2017 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories fell by 97,000 bbls (2.3%) to 4.125 million bbls, the fourth consecutive inventory draw, the Energy Department reported today. Propylene stocks remain 20% above the 52-week average, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. However, the onset of refinery maintenance season is likely to bring further inventory depletion. US Gulf refinery utilization during the week ended January 20 was down 4.6 percentage points at 87.4%.           --David Barry
