US nonfuel use propylene supplies drop first time in six weeks
HOUSTON, October 5, 2016 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories fell by 32,000 bbls (1.2%) to 2.771 million bbls, the Energy Department reported today. It was the first drop in six weeks, and inventories are still up almost 18% versus four weeks ago, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. The decline comes at a time when several refineries have FCC units offline for maintenance, including Marathon's Garyville, LA, refinery and Shell's refinery in Deer Park, TX. US Gulf refinery utilization was down 1 percentage point last week at 89.4%. -- David Barry
