P66 commissions Freeport LPG terminal with 1st cargo; fully operational in mid-December

HOUSTON, November 17, 2016 (PCW) – Phillips 66 on Thursday said it had successfully loaded its first commissioning cargo from the new Freeport LPG export terminal.

The BW Broker was the first vessel to load at the 150,000 b/d terminal and departed on Monday. Maritime data indicates the ship is headed to Elizabeth, New Jersey.

P66 said on Thursday the ship was the first of several commissioning cargoes and expects the terminal to be fully operational in mid-December.

The company has set aside about half of the facility’s capacity for its own use. Sinopec has a long-term deal with P66 to lift cargoes from Freeport at a reported rate of 34,000 b/d. -- Samantha Hartke
