Enterprise starts up final leg of Aegis ethane pipeline
HOUSTON, December 30, 2015 (PCW) –- Enterprise Products Partners said Wednesday it has begun operations on the remaining 162-mile portion of its Aegis ethane pipeline that runs from Lake Charles to the Napoleonville, Louisiana, area.
The 270-mile, 20-inch diameter Aegis pipeline originates at Mont Belvieu, Texas. The system is contracted for some 360,000 b/d, which will ramp up over the next four years, the company said. Its total capacity is 400,000 b/d.
The initial 60-mile segment from Mont Belvieu to Beaumont began service in September 2014, while the 48-mile portion from Beaumont to Lake Charles, Louisiana, started up this September. -- Samantha Hartke
