NGL production rises nearly 6% in October to record high: EIA data
HOUSTON, December 31, 2015 (PCW) -– Natural gas liquids production rose nearly 6 million barrels to 106.269 million barrels in October from the prior month, according to EIA data released Thursday.
This was another record high for NGL production since EIA began publishing the data in 1981.
Propane/propylene production continued to outpace ethane/ethylene production, with the former coming in at nearly 36.19 million barrels in October, up about 2 million barrels from September. Ethane/ethylene production was 35.91 million barrels in October, an increase of nearly 2.93 million barrels, according to the EIA.
Other NGLs’ production also increased:
Butane/butylene: 10.39 million barrels, up 284,000 barrels from September
Isobutane/isobutylene: 9.82 million barrels, a gain of 635,000 barrels
Pentanes plus (natural gasoline): 13.96 million barrels, a 134,000-barrel climb
