Flaring at CP Chem’s Cedar Bayou ethylene unit due to ‘force majeure:’ TCEQ

HOUSTON, December 7, 2015 (PCW) –- Flaring will occur at ChevronPhilips Chemical’s Cedar Bayou ethylene unit Monday through December 16 because of a ‘customer force majeure,’ according to a TCEQ filing.

“Flaring of tail gas from ethylene unit necessitated by a customer force majeure maintenance outage,” the filing stated. “Tail gas will be routed to the fuel gas system and to flare to control emissions while customer completes the maintenance outage and can resume receipt of the stream.”
