Evergas orders more ethane carriers to move US NGLs to Europe
HOUSTON, December 8, 2015 (PCW) –- Petrochemical and natural gas liquids shipping firm Evergas has ordered four option two Ineos MAX ethane/ethylene carriers from JHW Engineering & Contracting.
The 32,000 cubic meter capacity of these vessels is about 10% more than the capabilities of the latest 27,500 cubic meter fleet.
The vessels are expected to be delivered to Evergas beginning in the first quarter of 2018. The value of the order was not disclosed.
Evergas has already received three of eight 27,500 cubic meter vessels intended to ship US ethane to Ineos facilities in Europe.
Ineos is expected to begin shipping ethane produced in the Marcellus Shale from the Marcus Hook export terminal in Pennsylvania early next year. – Samantha Hartke
