FEED contract awarded for Alberta propane-to-PP complex
HOUSTON, December 5, 2017 (PCW) -- Canada Kuwait Petrochemical has awarded Jacobs Engineering a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for a proposed PDH and PP facility in Alberta, Canada.
The facility would consume 22,000 bpd of propane from Alberta to produce more than 1.2 billion pounds/year of PP.
Canada Kuwait Petrochemical is a joint venture of Pembina Pipeline of Canada and Petrochemical Industries Company of Kuwait.
The joint venture, which was formed in May 2017, said at the time that it expected to complete FEED activies in late 2018, followed by a final investment decision.
Preliminary estimates put the cost of the project at roughly $4 billion.
