Dow CEO Liveris to exit company by 2Q 2017
HOUSTON, February 2, 2016 (PCW) –- Dow’s current CEO Andrew Liveris said Tuesday he would be leaving the company once its merger with DuPont is complete and its three spin-off independent companies are established.
In his remarks during an earnings call introducing current chief operating officer Jim Fitterling as the new president of Dow Chemical, Liveris said:
“I look forward to working with Jim … [to] enable a successful leadership handover to coordinate with my own planned transition out of the company, which will occur when we are set up to be spun off but no later than the end of Q2 2017.”
Liveris has been at Dow for about 40 years. He has come under fire of late from activist Dan Loeb of Third Point, who has attributed Dow’s softening results to Liveris, among others. –- Samantha Hartke
