US nonfuel use propylene supplies show biggest gain since September
HOUSTON, January 31, 2018 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories jumped 298,000 barrels (11.3%) to 2.935 million barrels, the highest level since early October, the Energy Department said today. It was the third consecutive inventory build, and the seventh in the past 12 weeks, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. Propylene spot prices have fallen sharply over the past week amid bearish supply and demand indications, including confirmation today that the new Enterprise PDH unit was running at nearly full rates. On the refinery supply front, US Gulf refinery utilization fell last week by 6 percentage points to 86.6%. -- David Barry
