US Feb ethylene contract agreements settle with decrease
HOUSTON, March 5, 2018 (PCW) –- Parties settling monthly ethylene contracts have been confirmed to have reached agreement at 30 cpp for February, down 2.75 cpp from January.
One year ago, the February 2017 contract price was 35.75 cpp. Contract prices in 2017 ranged from a low of 29.25 cpp (July) to a high of 35.75 cpp (February).
Feb spot ethylene traded in a range of 20-25.75 cpp for Texas and Louisiana combined; its 30-day weighted average was 22.607 cpp (down 5.27 cpp from January) and its 45-day weighted average was 23.19 cpp (down 4.694 cpp).
Steam cracker operating rates in the US Gulf Coast were about 96% in February, compared to 90% in January and 92.5% for the year-to-date. -- Samantha Hartke
