NYMEX Thursday Wrap: Oil drops below $71 as nat gas extends gain
HOUSTON, May 24, 2018 (PCW) — July NYMEX crude futures settled down $1.13 at $70.71/bbl. July Brent at the close of the NYMEX decreased $0.77/bbl at $78.83 bbl. The July Brent/WTI spread widened at $8.12 bbl favoring Brent.
Prompt natural gas futures were up 2.6 cents at $2.940 mmBtu. June NYMEX RBOB futures closed at $2.2338 gal, down 2.63 cpg. May gasoline differentials were mostly higher from Wednesday’s level.
A2 CBOB 87 regular was higher at 15.25 cpg under the screen.
CBOB 87 was unchanged at 9.00 cpg under the screen.
D2 CBOB 93 premium was higher at 3.25 cpg over the screen.
CBOB 93 was up at 10.75 over the screen.
RBOB was higher at 3.75 cpg over the screen.
The 3-2-1 crack in the Gulf Coast was $13.06 bbl, $10.55 /bbl under the screen. – John Troland
