NYMEX Thursday Wrap: Crude, gasoline extend gains; nat gas softens
HOUSTON, August 30, 2018 (PCW) — October NYMEX crude futures settled up $0.74 at $70.25/bbl. October Brent at the close of the NYMEX increased $0.60/bbl at $77.72/bbl. It was the first close above $70 in a month.
The October Brent/WTI spread narrowed to $7.47//bl favoring Brent. Prompt natural gas futures were up 1.1 cents at $2.874 mmBtu. September NYMEX RBOB futures closed at $2.1435/gal, up 3.75 cpg.
September gasoline differentials were mixed versus Wednesday’s levels.
A2 CBOB 87 regular was weaker at 11.50 cpg under the screen.
CBOB 87 was down at 11.50 cpg under the screen.
D2 CBOB 93 premium was softer at 0.25 cpg under the screen.
CBOB 93 fell to 0.25 under the screen.
RBOB was lower at 12.75 cpg under the screen.
The 3-2-1 crack spread in the Gulf Coast was $13.75 bbl, $6.49 /bbl under the screen. – John Troland
