Dundee recycling giant wins Florida PET scrap bid offering sale
HOUSTON, December 27, 2018 (PCW) -- Clean Tech Inc, a plastics recycler based in Dundee, MI, was the winner bidder for 12 truckloads (480,000-504,000 lbs) of curbside green and clear PET scrap in bales at 17.02 cpp for the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, FL's January bid offering sale, the SWA announced on Thursday.
Clean Tech was also took three truckloads of HDPE natural (dairy) curbside bales at 42.02 cpp in the sale. SWA's bale sales are used as price markers for US markets east of the Rockies and are on an FOB Palm Beach County facility basis.
Clean Tech was the winning bidder for 10 truckloads of PET bales at 17.501 cpp in SWA's Dec bid offering sale.
This kind of PET scrap is typically recycled into rPET flake and pellet, itself used to make new plastic bottles, containers. and packaging. Clean Tech recycles more than three billion plastic bottles/year, according to its website. -- Xavier A Cronin
