Westlake Chemical completes acquisition of compounder NAKAN
HOUSTON, January 2, 2019 (PCW) -- Westlake Chemical Corporation today completed the previously announced acquisition of NAKAN, a global compounding solutions business headquartered in Reims, France.
NAKAN's products are used in a wide-variety of applications, including in the automotive, building and construction, and medical industries.
In its announcement of the deal’s completion, Albert Chao, president and CEO of Westlake Chemical Corp., said that the combination of NAKAN with Westlake's existing compounding business represents an excellent strategic fit. It will allow Westlake to expand its compounding business globally and add important specialty products and technology to its existing portfolio.
With this combination, Westlake's compounding business now has facilities worldwide in China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Spain, the United States and Vietnam, as well as a world-class research facility in France and several application laboratories. -- Donna Todd
