ExxonMobil reports flaring due to Baton Rouge olefins shutdown
HOUSTON, February 15, 2019 (PCW) -- ExxonMobil's Baton Rouge, LA olefins unit was expected to begin flaring today due to a planned shutdown, according to an emissions notice filed to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ).
The visible flaring was expected to occur from 8:00 AM through Sunday, the notification states.
Further details were not disclosed.
The olefins unit has an ethylene capacity of around 975,000 mt/yr (2.15 billion lbs/yr). -- David Barry
