Chevron Phillips LDPE units flaring Sunday
HOUSTON, February 25, 2019 (PCW) -- Chevron Phillips LDPE unit in Baytown, TX experienced a partial power outage on Sunday that resulted in reactor venting to the flare, the company said in a TCEQ filing.
The flaring activity took place for 4-5 hours. Workers minimized flaring and brought the unit back to normal operating conditions, the filing stated.
The LDPE unit, referred to as Polyethylene Unit 1792, includes six autoclave reactors with an aggregate capacity of 650 million lbs/yr (295,000 mt/yr). -- David Barry
