New PS curbside recycling plant planned in Indianapolis
HOUSTON, February 27, 2019 (PCW) -- Plastic Recycling Inc is adding a new wash line to its expanded polystyrene (EPS) plant in Indianapolis that will allow for the recycling of PS collected curbside, company PRI general manager Fred Read told PCW on Wednesday.
The new line should be completed in 4-5 months, possibly sooner. It will be located in the same building as the current plant, which opened last week. The plant currently recycles items like packaging blocks into plastic cores used to hold receipt paper in cash registers and other machines. It now accepts only clean EPS, dropped off.
PRI's partner in this project is Dart Container Corp, which has provided the recycling technology. -- Xavier A. Cronin
