Enterprise's Shin Oak NGLs pipeline enters service
HOUSTON, February 28, 2019 (PCW) -- Enterprise Products Partners announced today the opening of its 250,000 b/d Shin Oak natural gas liquids (NGLs) pipeline, providing a new route from the oil fields of west Texas and New Mexico to the petrochemical hub in Mont Belvieu.
The pipeline previously had been projected to start up in 2Q 2019.
The 571-mile pipeline originates in Orla, TX, roughly 100 miles west of the Midland/Odessa metroplex. The project is expected to ultimately provide up to 550,000 b/d of capacity when it is fully operational in 4Q 2019.
NGLs for the pipeline will be sourced primarily from Enterprise's Orla natural gas processing complex, which started up in 2018. Apache has contracted for over 200,000 b/d of the capacity with its NGL production from their Alpine High development in the Delaware Basin. -- David Barry
