HOUSTON, March 9, 2016 (PCW) -- Ineos on Wednesday said the Ineos Intrepid has left the Marcus Hook terminal with the first shipment of US ethane.
This is the first time ethane from US shales has been exported. The vessel’s destination is Rafnes, Norway, where the company has a cracker.
According to maritime tracking information, the cargo should reach Norway in about 10 days. The cargo is said to be about 27,500 cubic meters.
Meanwhile, two more Ineos vessels capable of transporting ethane are moored at Marcus Hook: Ineos Ingenuity and Ineos Inspiration.
Ineos said it would begin shipping ethane to its cracker in Grangemouth, Scotland, later this year. – Samantha Hartke
