PVC scrap exports up on increase to China, Hong Kong

HOUSTON, March 16, 2017 (PCW) -- US exports of PVC scrap in January totaled 18,748 metric tons, up 3,729 mt, or 25%, from January 2016, the latest USA Trade Online data show.

The January 2017 exports were valued at $5,416,480, compared to $5,089,076 a year earlier.

Exports were higher to China and Hong Kong, which collectively accounted for 81% of the January 2017 total. Exports to China totaled 9,221 mt in January 2017, up 1,847 mt, or 25%; exports to Hong Kong totaled 5,927 mt, up 1,690 mt, or 40%, from a year earlier.

Exports to Trinidad and Tobago totaled 1 mt in January, up from none a year earlier. -- Xavier A. Cronin
