Fire breaks out at NAPCO Georgia pipe plant
HOUSTON, March 31, 2017 (PCW) - A fire broke out just after 6:30 am last Saturday morning (Mar 25) at the North American Pipe Corp. (NAPCO) pipe plant in Greensboro, GA. NAPCO is a subsidiary of Westlake Chemical Company.
When fire crews arrived they found flames erupting through the roof of the structure at the back of the plant.

The employees were evacuated and none were injured. One employee was transported to the hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
Industry sources said that pictures of the fire’s aftermath showed the blending room had been completely destroyed.
According to a company representative, four lines at the plant were restarted midweek and the plant was expected to be running at full rates by early next week.
The company is bringing in compound from other NAPCO plants. No deliveries have been delayed. -- Donna Todd
