Dow’s Freeport PDH plant expected to restart next week
HOUSTON, April 28, 2016 (PCW) -– Dow’s PDH plant in Freeport, which began operating at the end of last year and went down in late March for planned maintenance, is expected to begin restart activities “next week,” company executives said Thursday morning.
The plant has a propylene capacity of 1.65 billion lb/yr.
Meanwhile, the ethane feedstock flexibility project at its 1.75 billion lb/yr ethylene cracker at Plaquemine, Louisiana, is about 95% complete. It is expected to come online in Q4.
Construction on Dow’s TX-9 cracker at Freeport is about 50% complete with more than 80% of the equipment installed, the company said. It is expected to come online in mid-2017. -- Samantha Hartke
