Occidental makes Hollub first female CEO of a big US energy explorer
HOUSTON, April 29, 2016 (PCW) -- Occidental Petroleum has named Vicki Hollub its chief executive officer, becoming the first major US oil exploration firm to put a woman in the CEO office.
The company had launched a succession plan in December with the pending retirement of Stephen Chazen, who stepped down as CEO following the company’s annual shareholder meeting. Directors gathered to formalize the move today after the company's annual meeting.
Hollub was elected to the Board of Directors in December 2015.
Hollub has been an employee of Occidental since 1982 through the acquisition of her employer, Cities Services. She most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer. -- Donna Todd
