Rain, Flooding Continue to Impact Rail Service in Houston Area

HOUSTON, April 21, 2016 (PCW) -- Union Pacific stated in a message to customers today that despite recent weather conditions, it has only one subdivision out of service -- Smithville.

As of Wednesday, water was receding on the Navasota, Glidden and Eureka Subdivisions. Flash flood warning remained on the DeQuincy Subdivision, which is east of the Houston area.

Union Pacific said it has resources staged and ready to respond to any additional issues that arise, and it will make repairs as conditions safely allow. Customers with traffic in the area should continue to expect delays of up to 48 hours. -- Donna Todd
