NYMEX Monday Wrap: Crude opens week with steep losses; natgas also plummets
HOUSTON, May 2, 2016 (PCW) —- June NYMEX crude futures settled down $1.14/bbl to $44.78/bbl. July Brent at the close of the NYMEX decreased $1.45/bbl to $45.92/bbl.
The July Brent/WTI spread narrowed to $0.44/bbl favoring Brent. Prompt natural gas futures were down 13.6 cents at $2.042/mmBtu. June NYMEX RBOB futures closed at $1.5628/gal, down 4.16 cpg.
US Gulf cash gasoline differentials were weaker versus Friday’s levels.
A2 CBOB 87 regular was lower at 15.25 cpg under the screen.
CBOB 87 was down at 6.75 cpg under the screen.
D2 CBOB 93 premium was lower at 4.50 cpg over the screen.
CBOB 93 was down at 13.00 cpg over the screen.
RBOB was dropped to 10.25 cpg under the screen.
The 3-2-1 crack in the Gulf Coast was $13.26/bbl, $4.70/bbl under the screen. -– John Troland
