US nonfuel use propylene supplies rise for fifth straight week
HOUSTON, May 17, 2017 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories last week increased 10,000 bbls (0.3%) to 3.157 million bbls, the Energy Department reported today. It was the fifth consecutive inventory build, but a much smaller gain than the four preceding weeks, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. Inventories are just 82,000 bbls below the 52-week average of 3.239 million bbls. Meanwhile, US Gulf refinery utilization last week jumped 3.1 percentage points to 96.5%, setting a new record for crude oil throughput in PADD 3. -- David Barry
