June global benzene contracts see mixed settlements
HOUSTON, May 31, 2017 (PCW) – Global benzene contract prices posted mixed results yet again as global values saw relatively minimal, yet similarly mixed, movements.
The US June benzene contract price saw its eighth consecutive split settlement of 270 cpg ($807/mt) and 271 cpg ($810/mt) DDP HTC, up 1 cpg ($3/mt) from May.
The Asia Contract Price for June settled at $775/mt (259 cpg), down $15/mt from May. Europe fell €17/mt at €737/mt ($828/mt or 277 cpg) CIF NWE.
During the month, global prices saw little change amid a generally balance supply/demand picture. Spot Asian values fell $3/mt, or 0.4%, during the month, while European prices rose $10/mt (1.2%). US spot values were virtually unchanged over the course of the month. Front-month Brent rose 32 cents/bbl, or 0.6%. --Samantha Hartke
