US nonfuel use propylene supplies rise ending five weeks of declines

HOUSTON, June 29, 2016 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories grew 193,000 bbl (6.3%) to 3.267 million bbl, the Energy Department reported today. It was the first inventory build reported in six weeks, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. Last week saw the restart of both the Dow and FHR on-purpose propylene plants near Houston, which utilize a propane dehydrogenation (PDH) process. US Gulf refinery utilization edged up 0.8 percentage point to 92.3%. -- David Barry
