Oil dock at Corpus Christi PET plant project delayed

HOUSTON, June 30, 2016 (PCW) -- An oil dock under construction at Port Corpus Christi in TX has been delayed until Aug 21 due to a "slope protection" project, a Port spokesman told PCW Thursday.

The dock is part of a PET plant under construction that is designed to produce 1.1 million mt/year of PET, making it the world's largest.

The dock, which is to receive bulk liquids including crude oil, was scheduled for completion at the end of Jun. M&G Chemicals is building the plant and has said it expects it to be completed by year's end. -- Xavier A. Cronin
