Rock-Tenn takes Florida PET bales at 11.81 cpp
HOUSTON, July 28, 2016 (PCW) -- A closely watched bid offering sale of PET scrap bales in Florida was done Thursday at 11.81 cpp, 1-1.25 cpp higher than business done early this week in many PET bale markets east of the Rockies.
The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, FL sold 10-12 truckloads (400,000-480,000 lb) of clear and green PET bales (from curbside collection) to Rock-Tenn/West-Rock, the SWA announced.
Terms are FOB SWA facility, August pickup.
SWA's monthly sales are typically used as price markers in bale markets east of the Rockies for the early part of the month.
SWA also sold three truckloads of HDPE natural bales to Only Recycling and GP Harmon Recycling LLC at 35 cpp; a breakdown of how much each company was sold was unavailable. Also sold were HDPE mixed colors bales to Plastic Revolutions at 17.991 cpp; mixed plastic scrap bales to M&L Plastics Inc at 2.62 cpp; and unsorted large and oversized rigid bales to Dubitec America at 6.75 cpp. -- Xavier A.
