NGL production up nearly 6% month-on-month in May, hits record high: EIA data
HOUSTON, July 29, 2016 (PCW) -– Natural gas liquids production rose 6.282 million barrels to 111.388 million barrels (3.71 million b/d) in May from April, according to EIA data released late Friday, marking a new production record since the agency began publishing such data in Jan 1981.
Ethane/ethylene production continued to surpass that of propane/propylene coming in at 42.236 million barrels (1.41 million b/d), up 3.71 million barrels from April. Propane/propylene production rose 969,000 barrels to 36.169 million barrels (1.21 million b/d).
Other NGLs’ production data is as follows:
Butane/butylene: 9.681 million barrels (322,700 b/d), up 373,000 barrels from April
Isobutane/isobutylene: 9.977 million barrels (332,567 b/d), an increase of 425,000 barrels
Pentanes plus (natural gasoline): 13.325 million barrels (444,167 b/d), an 805,000 barrel rise
