Enterprise, Navigator Gas to develop US ethylene export terminal

HOUSTON, July 12, 2017 (PCW) –- Enterprise Products Partners and Navigator Gas on Wednesday announced they would jointly develop a new ethylene export facility at Enterprise’s existing Morgan’s Point terminal.

The ethylene export terminal would be connected to Enterprise’s high-capacity ethylene salt dome storage and ethylene pipeline system, which is under construction. The storage facility will have a capacity of about 600 million pounds and an injection/withdrawal rate of 210,000 lbs/hour per hour, which is expandable to 420,000 lbs/hour.

EPD did not provide a projected in-service date for the export facility.

EPD had previously announced it was repurposing a storage well for ethylene and it would go into service in 3Q 2018. The new 24-mile, 12-unch diameter pipeline would run from Mont Belvieu to Bayport, crossing through Morgan’s Point. EPD would manage the construction, operations and commercial activities of the proposed terminal. Navigator Gas, with its fleet of 14 ethylene-capable vessels, would deliver the ethylene to consuming customers. -- Samantha Hartke
