April NGL production up 5.8%; sets new all-time high: EIA data
HOUSTON, July 31, 2017 (PCW) –- Natural gas liquids production rose 6.36 million barrels, or 5.8%, in May to 115.35 million barrels (3.721 million b/d) compared to the prior month, according to EIA data released Monday. This marks a new all-time high for NGL supplies, surpassing the 112.973 million barrels (3.644 million b/d) set in March. Ethane, propane and isobutane also set new high water marks as well.
Ethane/ethylene production came in at 43.542 million barrels (1.4 million b/d) – another new high water mark -- up 2.93 million barrels from April. Propane/propylene supplies came in at 37.537 million barrels (1.211 million b/d) in May, up 1.681 million barrels from April.
Other NGLs’ production data is as follows:
· Butane/butylene: 8.773 million barrels (283,000 b/d), down 93,000 barrels from April;
· Isobutane/isobutylene: 11.592 million barrels (373,935 b/d), an increase of 1.026 million barrels;
· Pentanes plus (natural gasoline): 13.906 million barrels (448,581 b/d), an 816,000 barrel increase.
