US nonfuel propylene inventories fall 5%, remain below average
HOUSTON, August 16, 2017 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories last week fell by 150,000 bbls (5.1%) to 2.787 million bbls, halting a two-week buildup, the Energy Department reported today. Propylene inventories have declined for four of the past ten weeks and have stayed in a narrow band since early June, according to the department's Energy Information Administration. Inventories are 369,000 bbls (11.7%) below the 52-week average of 3.156 million bbls. Meanwhile, Gulf Coast refinery utilization remained high last week, up 0.5 percentage point to 97%.
