US nonfuel use propylene supplies inch up for second week
HOUSTON, August 30, 2017 (PCW) -- US nonfuel use propylene inventories were up 32,000 bbls (1.1%) to 2.856 million bbls for the week ended August 25, the Energy Department reported today. It was the second straight inventory build, and the sixth in the past ten weeks, according to the department's Energy Infromation Administration.
Hurricane Harvey has resulted in the shutdown of many propylene-producing refineries, but propylene consumers are offline as well. Despite the approaching hurricane, Gulf Coast refinery throughput was slightly higher last week at 96% of operable capacity. -- David Barry
