Texas PET plant oil dock completion delayed two weeks

HOUSTON, September 20, 2016 (PCW) -- Completion of an oil dock under construction at a PET plant project in Corpus Christi, Texas, has been delayed by two weeks to "...add some pipe rack foundations," a Port Corpus Christi spokesman told PCW Tuesday.

The dock is part of a 1.1 million metric tons/year PET plant also under construction. It will receive bulk liquids, including crude oil, and also ship out finished PET resin.

The plant itself is designed to be the world's largest producer of PET. Its owner/operator, M&G Chemicals, expects it to be operating by the end of 2016. -- Xavier A. Cronin
